A very disappointing experience and future customers beware.

We arranged our family move from the US to the UK with Ruby International and have been extremely disappointed with their service. We were threatened into paying unjustified costs, without providing any evidence of the additional fees. At best they have been incompetent, at worse a scam.

We were made aware that the shipping schedule could change in the weeks leading up to loading and purchased flexible flight bookings to accommodate this. The date was booked and Ruby confirmed everything was going as expected up until the morning of the loading.

However, what we did not expect was to be emailed during the loading process that there was a week delay in the shipment and we could be liable for storage costs. It seemed extremely unfair that we would be liable for these extra costs for such a late change.

As we were travelling back to the UK with two small children we relied to Ruby to manage this and mitigate any costs either with the shipping company or minimise them with the truck company. Unfortunately they did nothing to this effect.

Four weeks later, Ruby sent us a invoice for payment as our container was preparing to depart the US. This cost was $2100 higher than we expected due to a number of charges; including storage fees (for the change of shipping schedule on the day of loading), storage fees for the day of and the day before loading (unexplained) and the cost of returning the trailer to the depot (unexplained).

We replied to Ruby explaining we were happy to pay the quoted amount but wanted some explanation and evidence of the $2100 of extra charges.

We were then threatened that if we did not make the full payment immediately they would place a hold on our shipment and we would incur further charges at the port; any dispute of the invoice would result in a hold and extra charges. We pushed Ruby to justify the invoice and shared our disappointment in how this was being handled.

With no choice we made the payment and trusted our container would continue to the UK and Ruby would not threaten us with any further costs. Our belongings arrived mid May and the UK based company responsible for managed the final leg were brilliant.

We’ve repeatedly requested evidence from Ruby but they are yet to provide anything to justify their invoice, prove that the shipping delay was real or the storage fees were genuine. They have also refused to provide any explanation as to why they didn’t mitigate any costs (for example leaving the container on a chassis at $300 per day rather than arranging to free up the chassis). They have also not provided an explanation why we were liable for such a late change or the charges not included in the original quote.

I invite Ruby to explain to any future customers who might be reading this why these charges and this treatment of they’re customers is justified.

Dear Ruby owners, I would like to share my experience that I had today with your packers and movers team. The day started well but the following happened once they moved from my old house to the new house, as explained below:

First of all, I would like to share the reason why i chose Ruby, it is only because of a star performer in your team, who is a valuable asset to your organization, Mr.Naeem: an exceptional human being and genuine person who not only grows business but touches hearys and builds memorable relationship with his unique way of interaction and personal touch, extremely impressed with Mr.Naeem.

First truck with all of our items came around 3:30pm including bed, wardrobe, curtain rods in first truck but all fittings were in second truck.

The second truck came around 8pm with

all fittings for furniture and curtains in second truck, everyone just waited after as they could not do anything. 5 people just waiting from 6pm saying truck is coming.

In between, when i went down to request to put the boxes that were in the hallway to move inside, they said they would do it once the second truck arrives, told them this as the security was complaining to move the boxes inside as shifting is not allowed after 6pm.

Finally when second truck came, maximum was someones elses furniture and 1/4th was our with plants, mattress and some small things, picture shared with Mr.Naeem. So they went to take someone elses things and kept us waiting for few hours, dont find that fair specially when they want to charge us for this kind of service for the whole second trip for that second truck with most of items that did not belong to us, not to forget the waiting that resulted in all this woth complaint from building security.

Except Naeem, who is a gentleman and a gem of a person, i would only come back to Ruby beacause of Mr.Naeem, otherwise the service and organization to avoid such delay was disappointing.

It is nearly 9pm and still your team has not finished the job, hope such system is done in a much better way in future.

Dear All,

This is a gentle reminder that please don't use these movers as they are the worst movers ever. They claim to be professionals but they do not even know what they are doing. First of all they are not at all punctual in there time. They were an hour late. And they were careless about our items and throwing them into the boxes to pack. Further, they wore masks on the chin between this pandemic. When we instructed them to wear the mask properly they were mocking at us. They were sliding the cooking range through the floor and it chipped off our tiles, and when we asked them to be careful, there reply was this usually happens during moving time. Seriously? Ridiculous behavior by the entire team of Ruby movers. After all this, we had 2 TV's, washing machine, fridge, cooking range, a king size bed and a curtain to be installed. They couldn't fix the curtains, excuse was they accidently fixed the back rail first + took wrong measurements prior to drilling holes and now have to drill new holes and left the front rail of the curtain hanging as seen (which we have to fix now), next, they cut the 3pin head of the washing machine promising us they can fix it to the port and later casually told they can't fix it after their attempt and fixed just 1 TV (that too without proper handing). Also they broke our TV for which they are not atleast ready to accept their fault. We tried contacting them for days. But they never responded back. After contacting all the staffs and manager, were extremely rude to us even after all the mess they have made. They would give fake promises like cheap, money saving moving, vaccinated staff, quick move etc to their customers for marketing, but it would all end up at the cost of your valuables.

I move my two bedroom apartment with inJvc I was very pleased to see that they took extra care in moving a large vintage desk that had huge sentimental value to me they are efficient honest men who worked hard and did not waste our time.

I had been stressing on how they would handle this desk and this legs they dismantle very carefully and reassemble also am very happy with this company very good guys keep it up ruby movers is the best my choice.
